The reasons for the absence of ovulation
For the sake of justice, we note that the absence of ovulation can provoke many factors. These include both physiological, and those that are provoked by the presence of diseases. So, about everything in order.
Physiological causes of ovulation absence
The absence of ovulation is the norm only during pregnancy and in the first months after childbirth, when a woman regularly breastfeeds. However, there are exceptions, therefore, this statement is not a reliable method of preventing unwanted pregnancies. Ovulation in nursing mothers is absent because of the increased level of prolactin, thanks to which the production of breast milk occurs.
Another physiological factor that determines the absence of ovulation is the period of menopause. It is important to note that the number of ovulation starts to decrease, starting from the age of 30-35, therefore, the older the woman, the more difficult it becomes for her to become pregnant, even with regular sexual activity.
Lack of ovulation is also the norm in women who take oral contraceptives or other hormonal drugs, whose action is to suppress ovulation.
Unfortunately, the absence of ovulation in women is due to the presence of diseases or pathological conditions.
Often, the absence of ovulation occurs in women whose weight is excessive, or vice versa - inadequate. Both are dangerous to the body. Therefore, if you are a fan of hard diets and fashionable leanness, then you run the risk of losing the joy of motherhood. The same applies to women, whose weight exceeds the norm several times. Diseases that lead to disorders in the body due to excess weight, are quite dangerous and significantly affect the future conception.
That's why women with insufficient or excessive weight need to go through the examination not only the gynecologist, but also the endocrinologist.
Signs and symptoms of ovulation absence
The main signs of the absence of ovulation, of course, are the long months of inconclusive "work" over the conception of the child. If you live sexually for more than two years, while not being protected, and you could not get pregnant, then you should consult a doctor for advice. An experienced doctor will advise you to do ultrasound of the uterus and ovaries on certain days of the menstrual cycle. If you suspect a pathology, you may need to take a blood test for FSH. This will help to understand whether the reason is the absence of ovulation in the onset of menopause or premature exhaustion of the ovaries.
Women who are at risk of ovulation fail also, who have an irregular menstrual cycle or the presence of infectious diseases of the genitals and the genitourinary system.
Based on all of the above, to know what caused the absence of ovulation - you need to see a doctor.
How to determine the absence of ovulation?
You can independently determine the absence of ovulation by measuring basal temperature. Recall that in the first half of the cycle, it should not be below 37 degrees, and a day before the onset of ovulation slightly decreases. After ovulation, the temperature rises to 37, 2-37, 4 degrees.
Measure the temperature in the rectum, immediately after waking, without getting out of bed. Women who use hormonal contraception do not need to measure basal temperature.
In addition to measuring basal temperature, you can use special tests to determine ovulation.
In conclusion, I would like to note that if you are planning a pregnancy, then, without ovulation, you should not sit with folded arms - this can significantly reduce the chances of a happy motherhood. Therefore do not hesitate to contact a gynecologist who will certainly find a way out and help you cope with this situation. It is better to start treatment immediately, while time is not lost, and to believe that everything will necessarily turn out!
Take care and be healthy!
