Another fairly common cause of bleeding in the early stages is erosion of the cervix: due to increased blood flow to the uterus, the neck may begin to bleed. In addition to erosion, bleeding can also cause some harmless tumors that grow in the uterus or in the cervix. Bloody at the same time is insignificant and is not accompanied by painful sensations. Such benign polyps can either be removed or discarded, but the removal does not harm the course of pregnancy.
There are cases when bleeding in the first trimester should disturb the expectant mother. Sometimes with discharge severe complications begin, for example, spontaneous miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy or even oncological neoplasms. Another bleeding may indicate the development of severe pathology of the cervix, varicose expansion of the blood vessels of the external genitalia, infection of the vagina.
The most serious complication of pregnancy is spontaneous miscarriage. It starts with bleeding, which can be insignificant and painless, but it lasts a long time and at the end is accompanied by unpleasant sensations.
Another cause of bleeding in pregnant women may be an ectopic pregnancy. Unexpected ectopic pregnancy can lead to rupture of the cervix and even fatal. These complications are very dangerous, therefore, at the slightest sign of malaise in case of bleeding, you should immediately consult a doctor. On the basis of examination, tests and ultrasound, you can immediately determine whether there is inflammation that could cause bleeding, how pregnancy proceeds, whether there is a threat of miscarriage.
