Chicory has a beneficial effect on the work of many organs and systems of our body. And they, as is known, undergo double loads during pregnancy and often "fail". First of all, it is the cardiovascular and hematopoietic system, because now the heart is forced to pump large amounts of blood, and the fetus is fed by the substances supplied by it. And so the chicory just makes it easier for the heart to work, purifies the blood and updates the red cells, raises hemoglobin. When anemia is recommended, drink chicory juice:

  • dilute 1 teaspoon of chicory juice in 100 milliliters of milk and drink 3-4 times a day. To get the juice, young shoots with flower buds are washed, scalded with boiling water, chopped in a meat grinder and squeezed out the juice. Before drinking juice should be boiled for several minutes.

An important property of chicory is the improvement of digestion and assimilation of milk. If you have this problem - drink milk along with chicory: it prevents the formation of lumps when the milk is rolled up in the stomach.

In addition, chicory in folk medicine is used in diseases of the kidneys, spleen, skin, with wounds and tumors, with cholelithiasis, with diabetes and so on.

As you can see, many good chicory for a pregnant woman. Just be careful: it increases appetite, and overeating and excess weight you now do not need (like any other, not even a pregnant woman, in principle). Keep in mind that chicory can a little stimulate and enhance coughing. Also note that with varicose veins, hemorrhoids, gastritis, gastric ulcer and duodenum, chicory is contraindicated.
