For prevention purposes, it is necessary to eat right in pregnancy, and the idea to use the correct technique of breastfeeding. But this can not be 100% protected from postpartum mastitis, if you have a hereditary predisposition, foci of purulent infection in the body. Postpartum pyelonephritis (infectious-inflammatory lesion of the kidneys)
