Folacin in pregnancy

Folacin in pregnancy - instructions for use, reviews

We already wrote that folic acid during pregnancy is simply necessary! Its importance can not be understated, since this vitamin takes part in vital processes - in the process of hematopoiesis, the formation of nucleic acids and amino acids, choline and other vitamins, in metabolic processes (fat, cholestyrine, protein), in the nervous, cardiovascular, immune systems and the gastrointestinal tract. Folic acid during pregnancy is necessary for the normal formation and functioning of the placenta, for the development of the neural tube of the fetus, for cell division. It protects the embryo from the effects of negative damaging factors, prevents the development of various pathologies and is necessary for the safe passage of pregnancy. For the woman, this vitamin is also very necessary. Among other things, it improves the digestive, nervous and haematopoietic system and, in conjunction with other vitamins, promotes immunity. With a lack of folic acid, the risk of premature birth and placental abruption, placental insufficiency, postpartum hemorrhages, development of vitamin deficiency in a newborn child, and a number of other complications increases.

Folic acid during pregnancy takes on even greater importance, not only because during this period, the need for it increases, but also because, that during pregnancy acceleration of its removal from the body - and the deficit has to be constantly replenished. And today we will talk about how to ensure the arrival of folicles, as it is called by moms, in our body. In the vast majority of cases, this issue was solved simply: the pregnant woman was prescribed usual Folic acid in tablets from the earliest date (if not in the planning), because it has the greatest importance in the first 12 weeks. But then began to appear alternative medications, one of which - already mentioned by us Folacin. There is nothing supernatural in this drug, but many gynecologists recommend it to their wards. The explanation is simple: taking Folacin is more convenient than taking Folic Acid. If before the pregnant women took folk three times a day, now it is enough one tablet, which is estimated as an advantage by the women themselves (almost all of us suffer from forgetfulness). However, here it is necessary to take into account the recommended dosage for each woman.

Folacin contains a therapeutic dose of folic acid - 5 mg. Not everyone needs this dose, but if the doctor prescribes, then probably you need more. If you doubt whether this dose is too much, check with your gynecologist. But at once you will calm down, that the overdosage of folic acid is practically impossible (if to accept it or her on purpose): its surplus which has been not acquired by an organism, is deduced with urine without any consequences for an organism. On the other hand, it simply does not make sense to translate the product if you only need 2 mg (the rest will not be absorbed anyway) - in this case, it is quite possible to dispense with Folic acid in tablets. Although more pregnancy does not interfere with pregnancy.

In general, gynecologists say that compared to the need of our body in folic acid outside pregnancy during the period of bearing a child, it needs twice as much, which is at least 4 mg. However, in each specific case, you may need even more - up to 8 mg of folic acid in pregnancy doctors appoint without any fear. Consider also the content of folic acid in your vitamin complex, if you accept this.

Rewhen using Folacin

Do not neglect folacin during pregnancy. If you do not like this drug, ask your doctor to give you an alternative, but do not give up folic acid at all - it's very dangerous!

When taking Folacin, note that it is contraindicated in malignant tumors, pernicious anemia and increased sensitivity to it. In addition, vitamin B9 (aka folic acid) is interrelated with vitamin B12 (also called cobalamin): with a deficiency of the second, the first is contraindicated. Therefore, before taking Folacin, make sure that you do not lack vitamin B12. Otherwise, they will need to be taken together.

Side effects from taking Folacin are quite possible. Among them, nausea, dizziness, anorexia, a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, bronchospasm, itchy skin and eruptions, erythema, bloating.

Please note that some medicines may not combine with Folacin or increase the need for it, which should always be asked by your doctor if you take something else.
