The pregnancy test is probably one of the most common ways by which a woman learns about the upcoming motherhood. Tests for pregnancy today are sold in a variety of options, but each of them responds to the increase in the amount of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in the woman's urine. HCG, which is also called the hormone of pregnancy, begins to develop intensively on the 7-8th day after conception, and on day 12 reaches those concentrations that the test is already reacting: both strips on it change color under the influence of hCG. It should be borne in mind that it is recommended to carry out the pregnancy test in the morning, but if the results are doubtful (for example, the second strip is unclear), repeat the test in 2-3 days. HCG reaches the "necessary" concentrations in the urine to react to it a little bit later than the levels of the hormone increase in the blood. Therefore, if you need to determine pregnancy before, even before the delay of menstruation, you can see a doctor for a blood test for hCG levels.
Blood test for hCG
A blood test for chorionic gonadotropin allows you to establish a pregnancy on the 10th day after an unprotected sexual intercourse, almost a week after conception. Blood for analysis is taken in the morning and on an empty stomach. At elevated levels of hCG in the blood, if any, there is every reason to talk about the coming pregnancy - in the usual state of hCG in the body of a woman is not actually synthesized.
At an elevated basal temperature
Many women still conduct charts, in which the values ??of basal temperature are noted at one or another stage. Such graphics are a good help for those who calculate days for successful conception (ovulation) or, conversely, determine "safe" days for having sex without having to be protected. The increase in basal temperature occurs after the onset of ovulation - up to 37 degrees and slightly higher. In case the conception is completed, the temperature indices remain. Therefore, if the delay is not yet monthly, but pregnancy is possible, should simply in the second cycle measure several days in a row basal temperature - in the morning and not getting out of bed. Having established that there was unprotected physical contact for the period of ovulation, it is possible to talk about the presence of pregnancy with a high probability. By the way, against the background of increases in the basal temperature, during pregnancy, the overall body temperature can also increase. However, low-grade temperatures within 37-37, 2 degrees are observed, as a rule, only in the first month of pregnancy.
It is possible to determine pregnancy by some physiological changes and by changing the state of health of a woman "for no reason". Despite the fact that almost a one-month delay is indicated for pregnancy, one-third of women even after successful conception have menstruation. True, somewhat different than usual - the allocation in this case is meager and very quickly passing. Against the background of such bloody discharge, there is often a certain soreness in the lower abdomen - the result of the implantation of a fertilized egg into the uterine wall. By the way, some soreness can then be accompanied by a pregnant woman every time during the period when before pregnancy she had a period.
Another sign on which you can, if not determine, then suspect a pregnancy - breast enlargement, pain or heaviness in the chest, darkening of the nipples. It should be borne in mind, however, that such symptoms are also characteristic of "days before menstruation," therefore it is not possible to determine 100% pregnancy by such a sign.
Indication of a possible pregnancy can and changes in the mood and mental state of women. So, excessive irritability and nervousness, tearfulness or capriciousness, increased fatigue and drowsiness can testify to a "new" life "settled" in the womb of a woman.
The olfactory and taste sensations of a woman can change due to pregnancy: some people are tempted to eat something "sour" (or salty), and some begin to feel sick of sharp and seemingly insignificant smells. By the way, nausea is a sure sign of pregnancy. Toxicosis becomes the "faithful companion" of the early gestation period in the vast majority of women: it is possible to overtake a pregnant woman in the second week, but until 12 weeks, as a rule, it passes.
Suspect pregnancy can be due to changes in sexual desire: it is true, if some ladies in the situation start to want sex more and more often, then some, unfortunately partners, desire to "knock down" on the contrary.
