How to recognize the contractions at the first birth

How to recognize fights during the first birth?

If we are talking about the first birth, then in addition to the fear of women is tormented by ignorance. When to wait for the appearance of cramping attacks? How can I not miss them? What feelings accompany them? These questions often arise in women during the first pregnancy.

Immediately it is worth noting that it is difficult to skip fights, but to confuse them with false or, as they are called, training - it is even possible. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in that, expecting the first-born, a woman is afraid.

What do women feel before giving birth?

Usually for 4-3 weeks to the most long-awaited and happy moment the future mummy begins to be bothered by painful sensations, reminding something of the month, in the lower back and lower abdomen, as well as pressure in the pubic area. The appearance of all the above symptoms is considered normal. After all, the female body is prepared for the upcoming birth of the crumbs, and besides, the baby himself in the mother's womb begins to press more and more on the bottom of his mother's stomach.

Also pregnant shortly before the hour, "X" can feel how her tummy periodically hardens, then again becomes soft. This phenomenon is explained by uterine contractions - hence the occurrence of cramping attacks. The uterus begins to contract, and its muscle fibers - thicken and shorten, which allows the pharynx of the cervix to gradually open up to the desired size. If the uterus has opened at 12 cm, it means that soon a new little man will be born.

Contractions: how not to miss?

Each organism is individual, therefore it is impossible to assert that all future mothers of contraction begin in the same period. In addition, the sensations that women experience before the onset of labor are also different for everyone. Some contractions can begin four or two weeks before the planned date, others - in a few hours. Some pregnant women can fully experience all the "delights" of generic precursors, while others will experience only a slight "discomfort".

The appearance of fights largely depends on the correctness of the deadline and the well-being of the mothers. Therefore, the period of onset of preexisting precursors can vary from 4 to 2 weeks before delivery. But training battles can disturb a woman already from the middle of the second trimester, the main difference from these is the chaotic periodicity. From time to time the tummy will strain, but at the same time there will be no regularity of occurrence of seizures.

But if you have systematic cramping sensations, the interval between them gradually decreases, and the pain intensifies - then the birth is not far off. After all, these characteristics indicate the onset of labor activity, which in general can be divided into three stages:

  1. Initial (or secretive) - a woman can feel a slight cramping pain, with seizures last no more than 45 seconds , and the frequency between them on average is up to 8 hours.
  2. Active - the duration of seizures increases to a minute, and the intervals between them are reduced to 3-5 hours.
  3. Transitional. The fastest phase of labor activity, on average, its duration is from 30 to 90 minutes. Duration of uterine contractions reaches 90 seconds, and the interval between them is shortened no longer to hours, but to minutes.

Contractions have begun: a call to the doctor or immediately to the hospital?

Probably, many women will now be surprised, but the first thing they should do when cramping sensations occur is to calm down. Believe me, the fuss and panic in this situation are not the best helpers.

First, relax and preferably sit down. Secondly, only by taking a comfortable position of the body, you can accurately record the duration of fights and the intervals between them. By the way, it would be nice to record all your observations. If you are not able to do this, then ask your relatives about it. Having such data, you can accurately describe the doctor your feelings, and he will tell you when to go to the hospital.

As a rule, if fights occur every half an hour - there is no reason for panic. At the first pregnancy, doctors recommend to go to the hospital when the seizures begin to repeat every 5-7 minutes. Although some experts still insist to go to the maternity ward already at the appearance of the first fights, that is, in the initial phase of cramping attacks. And in this there is some sense, because it is difficult to predict their development. And besides, amniotic fluid can go away earlier, and if this happens, it is better to be under medical supervision at this time.

No fight: what to do?

When discussing fights during the first pregnancy, we can not fail to mention the "reverse side of the coin" - when the future mother is waiting for their appearance, and they still do not come. What then?

In this case, doctors have to stimulate uterine contractions and induce artificial birth. And if there is a threat to the fetus, then such activities are carried out immediately. As a rule, doctors use the following methods to stimulate labor:

  • introduction of a hormonal drug into the cervical canal;
  • intravenous drug management;
  • autopsy of the fetal bladder.

Of course, you should not exclude all possible risks. But at the same time you do not need to "try" on yourself all the worst. When you understand that the fights have begun (and, believe me, this moment you are unlikely to miss), then will experience a spectrum of a wide variety of emotions - from joy to fear and excitement. The most important thing at the same time is to remain calm and follow the doctor's instructions exactly, because the entire process of childbirth and the birth of a healthy baby depend on it.
