Laparoscopy for infertility

Laparoscopy in the treatment of infertility

Laparoscopic varieties

The main advantages of this method of infertility are low traumatism and rapid recovery of the patient after surgery. In addition, the laparoscope does not leave scarring on the body. Diagnostic accuracy, the ability to identify and consider abnormalities of the abdominal cavity, as well as painless and short-term elimination of lesions of organs makes laparoscopy one of the safest for human health.

The surgical intervention is divided into three types:

  1. Diagnostic laparoscopy, used to accurately determine infertility.
  2. Operative laparoscopy, which covers almost the entire spectrum of gynecological micro-operations to eliminate existing pathologies.
  3. Control laparoscopy. This type of surgery is performed to check the effectiveness of previously performed laparoscopic treatment.

Using a laparoscope, you can identify a number of causes of infertility. Among them, spikes, the formation of cysts in the ovaries, obstruction of the tubes, uterine fibroids. Before the procedure, the patient is assigned a test, including the delivery of various blood tests (general, biochemical, for clotting and sugar, HIV, syphilis and varieties of hepatitis), ultrasound examination of the pelvic area, a flap, a chest x-ray.

The essence of laparoscopy for infertility

At the first stage of the procedure, anesthesia is performed. As a rule, doctors make intravenous anesthesia with complete disconnection of the patient's consciousness. Spinal and epidural anesthesia with laparoscopy is performed in rare cases, and only when there are contraindications to the use of general anesthesia.

The second stage of the diagnostic and therapeutic operation using a laparoscope is the application of pneumoperitoneum. This means that a gas is injected into the abdominal cavity, which "moves apart" the organs without injuring them. In addition, it improves visualization and access to the fallopian tubes.

The third stage of the operation will be the introduction of instruments and interventions on the fallopian tubes. Most often, scar-altered areas are removed and the ends of the fallopian tubes are neatly sewn. In the same way, spikes and cysts on the ovaries are excised.

If the operation is performed to diagnose infertility, the doctor only examines the abnormalities of the development of the uterus, the degree of ovarian involvement, presence of adhesions and cicatricial deformity of the fallopian tubes. However, in most cases, the diagnostic procedure is combined with the treatment of identified pathologies. Thus, laparoscopy in infertility allows you to clarify the cause of the disease by exclusion, and in other cases - to successfully treat the existing problems.

Contraindications

Diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopy is not carried out with exacerbation of the chronic process of female genitalia, in case of acute respiratory and intestinal infections, as well as in hypertension and coagulation disorders.

Laparoscopic results

In most cases, this surgery is well tolerated and helps to eliminate the main problems with conception of the child. However, in some cases, postoperative complications such as bleeding, inflammation of the abdominal cavity, recurrence of the adhesion process may develop.

Most often this type of infertility treatment is used for obstruction of the fallopian tubes. In such a situation, laparoscopy allows to restore the normal lumen of the organ and ensure the best advancement of spermatozoa to the egg. In other situations, a consultation of physicians is planned, and physicians decide whether it is advisable to use surgery or whether it is better to give preference to traditional methods of therapy.

Whatever it was, with the diagnosis of infertility you need to fight until you win!
