Skin care during pregnancy

Skin care during pregnancy without harm to the fetus

The processes occurring in the body of a pregnant woman are inevitable. They are programmed by nature and genetics. Against the backdrop of hormonal adjustment everything changes, and the skin also pays its price. But to correct the consequences of the work of hormones all the same you can do it a little. Give yourself a favorite little attention in this wonderful period. And try to at least smooth out the imprint of pregnancy on your skin.

Pigment spots

One of the first changes in the skin associated with the onset of a new condition is pigmentation. The median line on the abdomen and especially the areola of the breast can darken already at the earliest possible time. However, that's not all.

With the onset of pregnancy, melanin begins to develop in the body. It happens that the future mother is evenly tanned, as if covering herself with a light tan. But more often the emission of pigment occurs unevenly, and the woman turns into a Dalmatian.

The most painful thing is the so-called mask of pregnancy, when the pigmented spots cover the face of the future mother: on the forehead, cheekbones, nose, over the lip. Just one morning a woman can wake up and see a speckled face in the mirror. This occurs closer to the middle of the term.

It is noteworthy that pigmentation is more pronounced in swarthy women. Also the chances of becoming pockmarked are raised in dark-haired pregnant women. Therefore, try to hide your face from the sun's rays and, leaving the house, never forget about the cream with a sunscreen.

And in general, do not be upset about the "war paint": with the appearance of the baby's color, your skin will again level off.

No less trouble for a pregnant woman - stretch marks, or as they are scientifically called, stria. Their appearance is quite logical, because the skin for 9 months is decently stretched: the tummy grows, the breast swells enviable, and weight gain sometimes turns out to be excessive or spasmodic. Therefore, in the connective tissues, ruptures occur, and on the surface of the skin appear bands: first purple-red, and eventually cicatrize and whiten. Get rid of the striae is almost impossible (except by a special procedure for skin resurfacing). In addition, they are quite noticeable, especially on tanned skin, since melanin is absent in these formations.

The skin is most susceptible to stretching in the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, chest. In light-skinned women, stretch marks appear much more often than in black skin. And 80% of it is due to heredity, and only 20% of the role is played by skin care, lifestyle, nutrition and so on. But if you can influence at least these 20%, then this should be done.

The first thing that is necessary is to establish food. And regardless of how much you are exposed to the appearance of striae, you need to eat fully, variedly, and balanced. Focus on products that promote the natural production of skin elastin and collagen. Since the 12th week, intensively nourish the skin with creams and lotions. Choose the means intended for pregnant women from stretch marks. It can also be the usual olive oil or natural cocoa butter, which perfectly cope with this task. Be sure to moisturize your skin with something, it will significantly reduce the risks of its stretching. In addition, during the application of the product on the skin, you make a massage, which improves blood circulation, enhances the supply of nutrients to the skin layers and increases its elasticity.

Control the weight gain, do not go beyond the acceptable limit: this is dangerous in many senses, including the threat of the appearance of stretch marks.

Before breaks in the tissues, the skin starts to itch and tingle - this is a bad sign. But you do not give up and smear. Even if stretch marks appear in this case, then to a much lesser extent than without any preventive measures. Most often, striae appear as early as 6-7 months of pregnancy. It happens that my mother notices them only after giving birth. But it is necessary to start acting in advance.

Acne rash

Such is the unjust law of nature, but in some cases the skin with the onset of pregnancy becomes the purest and most tender, in others it becomes greasy and becomes covered with pimples. Here everything is individual, and if you are less fortunate, you will have to pay more attention.

The fact is that under the influence of progesterone during pregnancy, the sebaceous glands begin to work hard. The skin becomes fat, the pores are clogged with sebum, and an acne appears. After childbirth this unpleasant phenomenon will pass, but now we should remember the adolescent period and strenuously start taking care of our face. You do not need to smear all sorts of nasty things on it, but daily hygienic care with a full complex of obligatory procedures - in the morning and in the evening. Regularly cleanse the skin and use moisturizers without fatty ingredients.

Enhanced sweating

In addition to the sebaceous, sweat glands begin to work in a strengthened mode - thanks to the same progesterone. Here is a hormone: it works to maintain the pregnancy, but in passing it delivers us so many different troubles and troubles. But for the sake of maternity happiness you can endure.

So, pregnant women sweat in a strengthened mode. Often because of this they have a sweating - a small rash in areas of increased friction. Try to keep these places clean and dry, you can use talc or powder.

By the way, other women's skin on the contrary - becomes very dry, thin and overly sensitive. Such skin should be strongly nourished and moistened. So everything is individual.

Itching is a frequent companion of an interesting situation. At first, because of increased sweating. Secondly, due to overstretch of skin tissue. Thirdly, often the pregnant feet are scratched feet and hands, and even can change the color to a brighter. Do not worry - this is all the result of a change in the hormonal background, after childbirth, redness and itching will disappear by itself.

In addition, severe itching throughout the body can be a sign of calcium deficiency in the body. Therefore, if you observe such things in yourself, be sure to tell your leading physician about it.

Do not forget also that the sensitivity of the body during pregnancy increases, the risk of allergic reactions increases. Especially cautiously approach or suit to a choice of cosmetics, spirits, soap, gel for the douche, a washing powder. On any of these remedies the body can respond with strong irritation, redness and itching. Therefore, choose for yourself only the most qualitative and maximally harmless. The same applies to clothing: no synthetics and crushing styles.

If the skin itches without visible (as you think, reasons (which is normal during pregnancy), use soothing creams.

Even skin lesions can appear during this period, which is also the norm. But only in the event that it is papillomas and if they were formed at you precisely with the onset of pregnancy, but not earlier. In this case it is necessary to wait: after birth they will disappear.

Papillomas appear during pregnancy mainly under the armpits, under the breast or on the neck.

Another possible trouble is the appearance of a vascular network on the skin and even on the eye proteins. At many it appears already in the period of sorts. It should be said that the mesh does not always pass with the birth of the baby. Often this figure has to be "washed" by specialists.

As you can see, among a series of changes that occur with the onset of pregnancy, a considerable part of them account for the skin condition. Most skin changes begin to intensively manifest from the second trimester. Some of them may disappear after childbirth, while others will remain for life. But now you know what to expect and how to act.
