Normally, the entire birth process takes an average of 10 hours (in the case of re-births, usually less). Agree, not so much, given the waiting reward at the end. However, it often happens that everything happens much faster. To be happy about it or be afraid?
What is the danger of rapid delivery?
Births lasting 6 or less hours are called fast, and 4 and less than an hour are fast. In the case of moles, these frames are reduced by another 2 hours: that is, rapid labor takes less than 4 hours, and rapid births - less than 2. Doctors call this type of pathology pathological, and should try to slow down the process in case of its rapid flow, because for mother and child it threatens certain danger.
Nature does not foresee that the child is born not in an instant. This is a big stress for the baby, and he should prepare for the first breath. The biggest obstacle on the way to this world is hard pelvic bones through which a small head and then a small body should squeeze through without damage. The child moves along the birth canals with forward movements: two in front, one back. Soft bones of the skull bend, "trying" to pass through the barriers without injury. In the case of the rapid flow of labor for such caution, there is no time left. Therefore, the greatest possible danger is the possible cranial injuries of the newborn.
Not many are lighter or in childbirth: in normal births, pelvic bones and muscle tissues expand gradually, in the case of rapid delivery there is a high risk of getting strong ruptures and cracks.
In addition, a child may experience a shortage of oxygen, which sometimes ends tragically. This occurs when the normally located placenta is premature, so that the delivery of vital substances to the fetus is terminated early. There is an intrauterine bleeding (which, in general, is quite dangerous for a woman). In the postpartum period, prolonged bleeding is also possible.
What should doctors do?
It is very important to get to the hospital on time. Here the trained medical personnel must act quickly and smoothly - all is calmer than alone. If it was found that the childbirth is actually proceeding swiftly, they are stopped by medicamentous way, trying to provide an approach to the natural course of events.
A child is then monitored continuously (cardiomonitoring). Most often a woman is offered to take a position lying on her side. It's just perfect if the mother is trained in the techniques of proper breathing, which helps stop attempts, and the methods of psychological and muscular relaxation.
But sometimes there is a need to conduct cesarean section. Absolute indications for surgical delivery during rapid process flow is premature detachment of the normally located placenta, caused by this condition intrauterine bleeding, fetal hypoxia.
How to recognize rapid births
Only the process of expelling a child can quickly proceed, and all the previous stages can develop as expected - within 8-12 hours. But it can happen so, that the entire generic process will take no more than a couple of hours. At the same time everything begins suddenly and passes very intensely, the fights become immediately very pronounced: painful and continuously recurring, which leads to the rapid full opening of the cervix. Also, attempts: powerful, strong, difficult to restrain. In the parturient woman, blood pressure rises, breathing and pulse are increased. It happens that the child is born after the first or second attempt. Women say they did not even have time to understand what happened. Many times giving birth to mothers can "cope" in a few minutes.
Do not be afraid, but be prepared
Dear Mom, the purpose of this article is purely informative. This is just a warning about what can happen if the childbirth goes swiftly. But it is not necessary that they are accompanied by complications. Many women give birth in 2 hours of healthy children and at the same time feel great! Everything is always strictly individual, but, as they say, aware - means, armed. If your doctor suggests that you go to the hospital in advance in connection with the existing risk of rapid delivery, it makes sense to follow his advice.
Let not gynecologists find this incorrect, but I would advise you to find a good doctor in advance and agree on everything with him. Unfortunately, more and more often we have to be disappointed in the responsibility and professionalism of our doctors, including obstetricians. And this is a matter with which people do not joke. Rapid births are convenient to many such "luminaries". So it's better to find yourself a doctor in advance, whom you will trust. If, in the process of giving birth, you understand that things have gone faster than they were supposed to, and qualified adequate help can not be expected, then concentrate on yourself and the child: now the most important thing is you. Try to relax, breathe superficially and quickly ("like a dog"), avoiding deep breaths to maximally delay the attempts. And remember: many give birth quickly and safely!
Causes of rapid delivery
Violations of rapid delivery are associated, first of all, with the pathology of uterine muscles. As a rule, it is congenital, so the predisposition can be identified with the mothers and grandmothers of the mother in childbirth.
Gynecological diseases of a woman or complications during pregnancy (toxicosis, gestosis, kidney diseases, metabolic disorders and thyroid gland function) can provoke rapid delivery. The psychological unpreparedness of the expectant mother for childbirth can also cause the development of overly active labor.
Very risky young people (up to 18 years old) and those that are late with pregnancy from the point of view of nature (after 30 years) are primitive mothers. But this does not mean that if you enter any of the described categories of pregnant women, you will definitely have a fast delivery - not at all. It is very likely to assume a rapid delivery is possible only in the case of rapid births in the past: almost always, each subsequent birth occurs faster than the previous ones.
One can not lose sight of the fact that the wrong tactics of medical personnel can lead to rapid childbirth, and more specifically - unreasonable or excessive introduction of rhodostimulating drugs.
How to prevent
Actually, the answer to this question has already been stated above. If you are at risk for rapid delivery, then go to the hospital in advance. Probably, the doctor will prescribe to you medicamentous prophylaxis of fast delivery: relaxing uterine muscles of antispasmodics (for example, No-shpu), improving utero-placental blood circulation drugs (Trental, Curantil).
Ask your mother how long it took for her and her mother to give birth. Watch your rest regime, nutrition and most importantly - psycho-emotional state.
Ask your doctor to teach you to act correctly, if suddenly the birth will go very quickly. Learn the techniques of breathing and muscle relaxation and look at everything positively. Finally, childbirth is the only way to a long-awaited meeting with a baby. Let them pass safely and be happy!
