Utrozestan when planning pregnancy

Utrozestan when planning pregnancy - instructions for use, contraindications and reviews

Utrozhestan is a hormonal agent, the distinctive feature of which is that chemically it completely repeats the molecules of progesterone. In addition, Utrozestan, in contrast to natural hormone, is completely absorbed into the intestine. It is produced in two pharmaceutical forms: capsules and candles. Candles are placed vaginally, preferably at night, but the obstetrician-gynecologist describes the exact scheme. Sometimes the patient is prescribed both types of medication: capsules for internal reception, suppositories for local (vaginally).

Very often progesterone insufficiency makes itself felt both in the form of cysts and in the form of endometrial hyperplasia of the uterus. Proceeding from this, in order to prevent the development of all these unpleasant phenomena during pregnancy, Utrozhestan is appointed before its onset, at the planning stage. Besides, taking this medication is recommended for women who have signs of hyperandrogenism (characterized by increased hairiness in the male type, the presence of acne). It is also good in that it does not cause an increase in body weight, the appearance of edema, or increased blood pressure.

True, taking Utrozhestan is not always a boon. It will be necessary to refuse it to the owners of varicose veins, as well as to women suffering from liver diseases or complicated thrombophlebitis. Also, it is not prescribed for women who have malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands or genital organs, liver dysfunction, which is hypersensitive to the components of the drug. With caution apply for diseases of the cardiovascular system, diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma, diseases of the central nervous system.

Are there any side effects when taking Utrozhestan? There are, but rarely. If it is a vaginal route of administration, their occurrence may be associated with an overdose. As soon as the doctor reduces the dose - the negative symptoms disappear. Capsules taken internally can also lead to "pobochkam". Especially it concerns violations from the central nervous system: there is a state of drowsiness, dizziness. That's why, when taking the drug mentioned, be careful while driving or during activities that require increased attention.

Keep in mind that the use of Utrozhestan without prescribing a doctor is unacceptable!
