Why is watermelon useful during pregnancy?

And such recommendations have well-founded medical arguments:

All this is true and all this is very important during pregnancy. But there is another side to the coin. This is the quality of watermelons eaten. And here everything depends on a few moments.

First, it is the naturalness of the product. We all know that watermelons are generously seasoned with nitrates and other chemical additives. For any person such a watermelon carries a great danger, but if it is a pregnant woman, the situation becomes more serious doubly. And because nitrate watermelons for future mothers are contraindicated and strictly prohibited! To avoid stumbling upon such a "bomb", never buy watermelons before the end of August. Like any other fruits, vegetables and berries, watermelon is necessary and can be eaten only in the season of its ripening, and this is the end of summer - the beginning of autumn. And even during this period you are not immune to nitrate surprises. Therefore, learn how to recognize them "by sight":

  • Such bad watermelons, when tapping on the surface, emit a muffled sound, like from a deflated ball (and not as from a hollow container).
  • When squeezing a watermelon, it does not crackle, but it seems soft.
  • In the section, the normal watermelon pure from nitrates is slightly heterogeneous in color.
  • The slice of a nitrate watermelon is almost perfectly smooth.
  • The veins must be thin and white, hard and yellowish - a bad sign.

In addition, to check the quality of watermelon, you can throw a piece of pulp into a glass of water. If the water turns pink or red, do not even try the berry. A good option - before you eat a watermelon, feed them a husband or any other relative and check the reaction.

Remember also that the threat poses not only nitrates, but also microbes that develop very fast with heat in a juicy berry. Therefore, before cutting the watermelon, very well wash it with soap under running water. And cut and do not buy.

You can store the half-eaten watermelon only in the refrigerator and not more than a day.It is not only right to choose and store it correctly, but it is also there.

Thus, the striped berry can pose a certain danger to people suffering from stomach disorders and colitis, as well as in which the outflow of urine is disturbed. If there are stones in the kidneys, it is necessary to eat watermelon very carefully. All the rest are encouraged to use seasonal watermelon for general health promotion and treatment of specific diseases, but if possible, it is better to eat homemade, not treated with chemicals watermelons.

Still, always take precautions and think first with your head, and then with your stomach. As soon as you feel something is wrong after drinking watermelon - just drink activated charcoal and a lot of water.
