Where the umbilical cord disappears from the mother after birth

Where does the umbilical cord from the mother go after giving birth?

What is an umbilical cord for?

If viewed from the point of view of science, the umbilical cord is a constituent part of the fetal bladder, in which the baby gradually develops until birth. It plays the role of a conductor of all micronutrients and vitamins, and also serves as a way of deducing the products of vital activity of the embryo.

It is safe to say that the umbilical cord is the most important link between the baby and the mother. Everything that enters the body of a pregnant woman always reaches the baby. The placenta, in turn, plays a protective role for the future little man, but it is not able to completely neutralize the negative impact of tobacco products, spirits and harmful components of food. Therefore, it is necessary to adhere to the correct regime during pregnancy, in order to protect yourself and the fetus from all sorts of troubles.

The process of childbirth itself can be divided into such stages as fights, attempts and the birth of a child, the release of the afterbirth. The latter is the remains of a damaged placenta and umbilical cord. The third stage does not take much time, most often it is completely painless, completely natural and does not give the woman a serious discomfort.

It is imperative that all, without exception, postpartum tissues completely emerge from the uterine cavity. After the removal of the ulcer, the umbilical cord, which still binds the mother and the baby, is neatly cut. To avoid bluish skin tone in a newborn, do not do it right away. Only after a few minutes the medical staff starts to disconnect the link between the woman and the baby.

Where does the umbilical cord leave after delivery?

The long-awaited moment came when the baby was born, the umbilical cord was cut, and the woman became a happy mother. And what next, what to do with the umbilical cord, because for months she connected two native people? This question disturbs very many.

Upon completion of the afterbirth, the umbilical cord is recycled. In modern conditions it can be done by parents themselves, on their own, or by medical workers. A few decades ago, the umbilical cord and the placenta of the hospital began to be kept at home. These tissues are most likely used in the course of scientific research, since they contain a lot of important information from a scientific point of view.

In the Western countries, an unusual procedure of freezing rapidly gained popularity. This happens when, according to the mother's consent, the stem cells are extracted from the umbilical cord, then they are placed in containers and stored in special institutions. This action is not necessary, but in critical cases these cells can save the life not only of the baby itself, but of his mother, as well as of the next of kin.

In the post-Soviet countries, the freeze is still only in the state of implementation. Also, the placenta with the umbilical cord is a very valuable material for the manufacture of various cosmetic and medicinal products for preserving the youthfulness of the skin and healing of all kinds of ailments. If the newly-made parents decided to take with them the "sacral part", which has bound the woman to the baby for so long, then you can do it in any way.

In the people there are many customs that came to us from ancestors. For example, to preserve the best possible warm relations and improve mutual understanding with the child, it is recommended to dry a piece of umbilical cord and keep it. But to get wisdom and strength from representatives of the whole family, some of the cloth was dried, placed in a locket and carried with them as a kind of amulet. Moreover, before the latter, together with the umbilical cord, was buried in the ground and planted in that place a small tree to give the child health and well-being.

In modern conditions, the approach of previous generations to the method of disposing of postpartum tissues can be considered ridiculous or even stupid, but this was done for a reason. For example, the ancient Slavs believed that the "child's place" is very important for the child, and should not be allowed to get into evil self-serving hands. They recommended getting rid of the afterbirth, avoiding extraneous eyes in this process, preferably in the dark.

Of course, not all families can easily pay for the preservation of the umbilical cord in special refrigerators. Therefore, you can separate a small piece of this link and store it as a memory, and dispose of the remaining part in the hospital.
