Cesarean section: for and against

Cesarean section: for and against

Many psychologists and doctors conduct different studies on how the operation of Caesarean section in the future affects the life of the child and his mother. We will put some arguments "for" and "against" such an operation. After reading, you can draw your own conclusions. The main thing, on what we emphasize your attention - a cesarean section should be done if there are medical indications. This should be the first argument "for".

More and more women physically for health reasons can not give birth to a healthy child on their own. Therefore, in the presence of problems such as a narrow pelvis or an incorrect attachment of the placenta to the uterus (in medical terms this is called placenta previa), doing a cesarean section is the only way to give birth. In addition, doctors insist on such an operation, if the mother has at least one of these diseases - HIV, genital herpes in acute form, heart disease, diabetes. Cesarean section is also shown in the presence of a tumor in the cervical region. Sometimes such births are recommended, if the pregnancy occurred as a result of artificial insemination or there is a probability of rupture of the uterus because of previous operations.

But it also happens that the cesarean section should be conducted already in the process of the birth of the child. Factors such as lack of labor, heavy bleeding, fetal hypoxia - all this requires immediate surgical intervention.

Some women have one more argument for "cesarean section" called the absence of pain. But this is more than a conditional argument, because the pain will be later, besides there is too much risk for the mother and child, if you conduct such an operation without medical indications. Think for yourself, you cut your stomach and then remove the baby, and then apply stitches that heal for a long time. So, smoothly, we turn to the arguments "against" the caesarean section.

First of all, pay attention to the risk for crumbs. At a caesarean section, a woman is given a dose of anesthesia, and the child also receives it. In addition, the baby is at great risk in terms of health. For example, complications in the respiratory system of a small organism are possible. By the way, this risk is slightly reduced if the operation is performed after the 39th week of pregnancy.

All of us to the experience of our loved ones know that it is not always possible to accurately calculate the date of birth, therefore in advance planning the operation, the risk of a premature baby's birth is retained with all the ensuing consequences.

Another disadvantage for the child, if he was born after cesarean section, is that he can be with his mother only for the second-third day, then the mother can also put the baby for the first time to the chest. All this complicates the natural contact of mother and baby.

As for the possible risks for the woman herself, then there are no less important nuances. For example, the same anesthesia seriously affects the mother's body. Just as we have already mentioned, postoperative adaptation is too difficult. During the operation, the risk of severe complications remains - from blood loss to damage to the internal organs (intestine and bladder).

Do cesarean section or give birth in a natural way - every woman has her own choice. But do not make such a decision, based only on your own desire to avoid birth pain.

Easy for you to give birth and a healthy baby!
