A large number of sexual infections, frequent stressful situations, severe diets and even environmental conditions - all this can be a factor in the appearance of the ovarian cyst. It occurs in women as a result of a malfunction of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are broken. The cyst is a cavity filled with a liquid content, which is formed in the ovary.
Specialists distinguish several types of cysts:
- Functional - can be treated without surgery. How does it appear? Every month in the ovary under the influence of hormones grows follicles. When ovulation occurs (somewhere on the 14th day of the cycle), he is torn. If, for various reasons, ovulation does not occur, a follicular cyst is formed. It should be noted that in the future this particular cyst will interfere with the growth of other follicles, which means that there will be no ovulation and consequently conception is impossible. The positive thing is, hthen these types of cysts quickly regress either alone, or after proper therapy.
- Kistoma (serous, serous papillary, mucinous cystadenoma). It is subject to mandatory removal. These cysts are dangerous from the point of view of cancer risk. And naturally, they also interfere with conception.
If no functional cyst or cystoma is found, conception is possible, but there is no 100% guarantee that the pregnancy will be normal. The fact is that there are other types of cysts, they do not interfere with conception, but can lead to complications already during pregnancy. These are endometrioid and dermoid (mature teratomas) cysts. In the presence of these types of cysts careful monitoring of the doctor is necessary, because in the case of rupture of the cyst, surgical treatment is necessary.
However, one should also remember about the cyst, which can appear already during pregnancy. This is a luteal ovarian cyst, it is also called the yellow body cyst. It occurs in the first trimester of pregnancy. After 12 weeks, there is a possibility that this cyst itself will resolve.
During the planning of pregnancy, if this is taken seriously, it is necessary to undergo an examination for the presence of an ovarian cyst. It should be remembered that recently more and more women are facing this problem. There are cases when the disease may not have symptoms, but if you feel constant pulling pains in the lower abdomen and lower back, have an irregular menstrual cycle, then it's worth to check with a gynecologist. Detect the presence of a cyst with the help of an ultrasound scan.
