Due to the fact that in our time all future mothers are under constant control of an obstetrician-gynecologist, cases of severe gestosis are extremely rare (usually they are treated immediately at the stage of edema).
Another "known" reason, which can cause disorders in the circulation during pregnancy is FPN (feto-placental insufficiency). It is usually provoked by the development of spasms of the blood vessels of the placenta, as a result of which the fetus "starves" because of insufficient amounts of oxygen and nutrients. Accompany this process can the formation of thrombi in the blood vessels of the placenta. Even with insignificant fetoplacental insufficiency the child may develop a mild perinatal lesion of the nervous system, and developmental lag may also be observed. In severe forms of FPN, severe brain damage is possible.
Trental's use during pregnancy
Medications that have the ability to restore normal blood circulation are especially important in pregnancy. These include Trental, the main active ingredient of which is pentoxifylline, due to which the fluidity of the blood improves, and due to the slowing down of the process of gluing together platelets and red blood cells, its viscosity also decreases. Thanks to "Trental", the vessels expand, which improves the process of providing organs and tissues with blood, oxygen, and nutrients. "Trental" during pregnancy promotes the expansion of the blood vessels of the placenta, improving the blood supply to the fetus. "Trental" in pregnancy is prescribed for gestosis (late toxicosis), as well as for intrauterine hypoxia of the fetus.
Although the instructions to "Trental" indicate that it is contraindicated during pregnancy, the drug is widely used to treat disorders in the circulation of the future mother. The use of "Trental" in pregnancy is justified by the excess of the possible benefits from it over the occurrence of a potential risk to the fetus. Undeniable is the fact that the use of the drug is possible only with the appointment of a doctor.
When treating a woman at home (outpatient), usually take a single pill twice or thrice a day. You can take pills during meals or immediately after the end of this process.
If there is a high risk of losing a child and treatment of a pregnant woman occurs in a hospital (in a hospital), then "Trental" is administered intravenously through a dropper.
"Trental" during pregnancy is prescribed only in the third trimester and take it to the full cure of delays in the development of the unborn child, until the fetal hypoxia is eliminated, or until the end of pregnancy itself. In any case, the duration of the course of treatment with this drug is prescribed only by a doctor.
When is it impossible to use Trental during pregnancy?
"Trental" is not prescribed for future mothers with peptic ulcer, as it causes irritation in the mucous membrane of the stomach. Do not appoint it and with increased hemorrhages observed in women, or with low blood coagulability. One should try to avoid taking the drug after the 33rd week of pregnancy, as this can provoke bleeding during labor. Do not take the drug with increased sensitivity to its individual components.
"Trental" does not affect the development of the fetus. Even if a pregnant woman has an allergic reaction to the drug, the child will not harm it. Despite the contraindications to the use of the drug during pregnancy, specified in the instruction itself, "Trental" is widely used in obstetric practice.
