Uterus during pregnancy

Uterus during pregnancy - the main changes and its structure

The growth and development of the baby affects the work of the entire body of the mother, at the work of all his organs and systems. And, probably, initially during all pregnancy changes temporary "small house" of a crumb - uterus undergoes changes. A unique organ, thought out by nature for the "settlement" and the development of a baby in it, changes very, very noticeably during the entire period of pregnancy. It is not surprising that the issue of the uterus during pregnancy is of interest to a fairly large number of women - both already held mothers and pregnant women, and potential future moms.

Changes affecting the uterus begin to occur already from the first moment of fixation in the uterus of a fertilized egg. Once it is introduced into the wall of the uterus, the body immediately receives an appropriate "signal" about mobilizing all the forces and resources to preserve such a fragile new life. In the place where the egg was fixed, the uterus during pregnancy will be characterized by a characteristic bulge. In parallel, and especially in the place of fixation, and throughout the wall the uterus gradually becomes edematous, filled with fluid, swells. And if the uterus before the pregnancy is pear-shaped and weighs in the range of 50-100 g, then the development of the baby will change the shape of the uterus, increasing in size, and by the end of pregnancy will have a weight of about 1000 g.

In the first months, the uterus during pregnancy does not yet increase to significant size, so that it can be palpated - it will probably be done approximately in the third month of pregnancy, when the uterus reaches the approximate size of the head of the newborn. The form of the uterus during pregnancy changes several times: first from the pear-shaped, acquiring a spherical shape (about 2-3 months), and then until the end of pregnancy, keeping the shape ovoid.

The uterus during pregnancy grows in size and stretches continuously, parallel to the growth in her baby. There is a gradual shift of the uterus: if the uterus is in the abdominal cavity during the first three months of pregnancy, on the 4th month its bottom reaches the level between the navel and the pubis, by the 5th month the bottom is determined at the level of the navel, and in the late stages of pregnancy - the lower edge of the sternum. By the end of pregnancy, the uterus rises so high that it presses the diaphragm, making it difficult for the mother to breathe. At the same time, constantly increasing in size, the uterus during pregnancy also presses on the organs of the abdominal cavity: it squeezes the stomach and intestines, the bladder. This explains the frequent for pregnancy cases of constipation, the appearance of heartburn, difficulty with digestion, frequent urination.

Elastic fibers of the uterus during the bearing of the baby are stretched, softened and stretched and ligaments supporting the uterus. As the ligaments stretch, Mom can experience a pulling sensation in the abdomen. However, to identify them as a result of sprain and enlargement of the uterus in size is necessary with the participation of a physician: pulling sensations in the lower abdomen may also indicate an increased tone of the uterus, which threatens premature termination of pregnancy.

The uterus during pregnancy is characterized by increased circulation of blood along the blood vessels penetrating the organ. Thus, the baby receives the necessary oxygen and nutrients, in the opposite direction along the blood vessels, the final products of metabolism are removed. After 35 weeks, when the crumb will take a final presentation in the uterus, after some time the woman will experience some relief. So, at 38 weeks, when the uterus reaches the highest position during pregnancy, the baby slides down, clinging to the outer part of the birth canal and finally getting ready to travel to the new world. In this connection, the uterus descends, its pressure on the diaphragm decreases, and to breathe a woman becomes freer and easier.

As a rule, when the uterus descends, the onset of labor should be expected in the closest time - in 1-2 weeks. By this time the uterus during pregnancy weighs about 1 kg, and its muscles have been slightly reduced for some time. So, by the 20-22 week of pregnancy, Mom can feel the so-called training bouts, and a few weeks before pregnancy - fights false. By means of such reductions, the uterus during pregnancy is peculiarly trained, preparing for the forthcoming birth. The real bouts begin after the separation of the mucous plug, the drainage of water - according to the norm, in the period of 36-40 weeks.
